We’ve done a lot of traveling in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula this summer. One of our favorite places was St. Ignace. It’s not as busy as Mackinaw City, but has tons of cool places to see and things to do. 😎

We enjoyed walking through town and stopping along the way. 🚶♀️ Window shopping, fudge smelling (lol), and parks/museums called to us! We really enjoyed learning about the way the local natives lived at the Museum of Ojibway Culture. The plants they grew for healing various ailments in the outdoor exhibit were quite interesting to us. 🌿 We also had fun exploring inside the Longhouse/Healing Lodge.

We also loved walking along the beautiful shore of Lake Huron. We had some gorgeous weather, so a walk along the St. Ignace City Marina and out to the Wawatam Lighthouse was a must! ⛵

The food was SOOOO good! If you’re driving through the area, a stop on US-2 at Clyde’s Drive In for dinner is a great idea! Their burgers and cheese curds are amazing! 🍔 We also had to get some pasties at Lehto’s Pasties. The kids decided pasties are one of their favorite foods. 🤤 Manley’s Fish Market has the best smoked fish that we tried in that area. 🐟 Their homemade cheese curds, beef and venison sticks, and smoked fish dip made a super fun charcuterie board for us.

Our stay at Cedar Hill Lodge was pretty nice, too. We enjoyed the warm pool and the hot tub was great! 🏊♂️ The breakfast was pretty limited, but was fine for us to get started on our day.

Since we were in the area, we spent some time at the Cut River Bridge & Roadside Park. It’s such a beautiful area. The steps down to the river and the path to the beach were well worth it. 🤩

As we speak (or write, lol) we’re on the road heading to our next adventure! Stay tuned for more Traveling with the Trapps. 😀
